Nurturing children through Meditation on Stillness

The first bloom of Spring brings people feelings of joy, happiness and is representative of new beginnings. This doesn’t happen without first planting a seed and having a period of nurturing time and care for it to healthily grow.

This is similar with children – we must put in the time, patience, love and nurturing attention in order for them to healthily develop, grow and blossom.

From the moment they are in the womb, Mums-to-be knows to take care of their unborn babies physically, via healthy eating, exercise and by avoiding overexertion. As children grow, as well as their physical needs being looked after, a child’s emotional and mental wellbeing needs to be carefully managed to provide a balanced foundation, to develop resilience and to help them to more easily overcome any struggles and obstacles that are present in everyday life.

Mental health issues are not only growing in society, but they also are now commonplace and occur more frequently than not with the vast majority of people not knowing how to cope, let alone get better. Young people are struggling with pressures put upon them by family, peers and even themselves, with no help from social media to exacerbate their feelings of inadequacy and hopelessness.

The key to helping our children is by equipping them with techniques and tools that will prevent problems before they arise. Instead of identifying problems and then finding solutions, the solutions need to be put into place first so that problems can be minimised and even avoided.

The Meditation on Stillness was created by Les Flitcroft to empower children to manage worries, fears and control emotions. This fantastically simple technique also helps to increase confidence, promote better relationships and interaction with others, reduce anxiety and enhance overall happiness and wellbeing. The sessions are designed to be fun and enjoyable, incorporating simple breathing techniques along with a relaxing guided meditation.

Children’s’ Relaxation Sessions with the Meditation on Stillness are currently run in various schools across the UK & Ireland, all with tremendous benefits across age groups. There are also CD’s available, and so can be incorporated as a daily routine within the comfort of your own home. The results can be seen in just a short space of time with regular practice.

We all want our children to grow and flourish into happy and healthy adults. The way to achieve this is to help them to understand their own thoughts and emotions, and give them the ability to manage them so that they don’t get overwhelmed.

With the Meditation on Stillness, children feel more empowered as they learn to regulate and become in control of their emotions. Negative situations will still arise in their lives, but the difference is that they will be able to deal and cope with these obstacles with a clear mind, more awareness and maintain a greater sense of wellbeing.

Blossom and Bloom with Meditation on Twin Hearts

Would you like to know an ancient secret to success?

Think about it, what do many of the most successful people around the world have in common?

They MEDITATE

Over time, science has shown that by practising the Meditation on Twin Hearts regularly it can literally rewire your brain with full benefits felt physical, emotionally and mentally.

Did you know, you can also use the Meditation on Twin Hearts to help your personal and business projects to blossom and bloom?

Springtime is a time of growth and change. The bulbs that are in bloom during this time of year are a reminder that even after a quiet, seemingly desolate period of time, beautiful things can emerge. As you embark on a new project, much like growing a plant from seed, the surrounding environmental conditions and quality of the energy available is absolutely key to growth. Your thoughts and emotions are energy so it’s important to have positive thoughts about your projects, particularly in the early days before the roots of the project are established. Practising the Meditation on Twin Hearts helps you to think positively by clearing out the negative thoughts.

Once you’ve planted a seed, it’s often many weeks before you see any growth. This can be a frustrating time when it feels like a new project is not going anywhere.  However, using this quieter time to gently nurture your projects, just as you would a freshly planted seed is fundamental. Self-care is key as YOU are the equivalent of the surrounding environment that triggers a seed to germinate.

Practising the Meditation on Twin Hearts is proven to help increase concentration levels and increase positive brain activity because it declutters your thoughts and emotions, providing a spring clean for your mind.  This is particularly important in the early stages of a project when you need to have a sharp mind and think strategically to ensure you can optimise the growth and spread the roots in the right areas. As a seedling develops, it’s important to ensure there are no weeds ‘stealing’ the energy that will be critical for its growth.

Just as with plant growth, projects need energy.  The time and quality you dedicate are important and when you practice the Meditation on Twin Hearts you can ‘boost’ your projects by intentionally directing positive energy generated during the meditation to them.  For further growth, if you meditate in a group you will generate even more energy so you can ‘super-boost’ your projects. You can think of this positive energy as ‘fertilizer’, helping your personal and business projects to blossom and bloom – definitely a secret worth trying.
